Synopsis
The story takes place in a different version of what might have been our modern era. At its center are young people known as "Kildren" — beings locked permanently in adolescence, never aging beyond it. They know, each morning, that it might be their last, because the war they fly in isn't really a war — it's entertainment, organized and run by adults for reasons that have nothing to do with the Kildren themselves. And yet, holding that reality close, they live each day fully.
