Synopsis
A dragon lived on that mountain — red-maned, red-eyed, and burning. Its breath set forests alight, its claws tore through the hides of giants like rock, and it could swallow devils whole, horns, wings, and all. Then one night, the wandering soul of a crying child drifted onto it and stayed there. The dragon's power was nearly that of a god. It bent its head to no one. But it had never learned what to do with something fragile. Had no idea how to shield a life much weaker than itself, or how to keep hold of one that was…
