Synopsis
Ding Quandan is poor, adopted, and thoroughly underestimated by everyone around him — including his sister-in-law who feeds him and the charming widow next door who leaves her door conspicuously open. He is also, it turns out, a miraculous healer. A country doctor story about a man the world dismissed who discovers he has the skill to go anywhere he wants, and proceeds to charm, cure, and wander his way from the countryside into the city with the easy confidence of someone who has nothing to prove and everything to gain.
