Synopsis
My father is an Earl, but my mother was a commoner who has since passed away. That combination left me stuck in a cramped existence as an illegitimate child. So at 16, I made the decision to drop out of the noble family registry and live as an ordinary citizen instead. The question is whether everything I picked up from my time among the aristocracy will actually be useful now.
And then there's what my mother left me — the practical knowledge and ways of getting by that commoners rely on. Will any of that actually carry me through?
