Synopsis
The orphan she'd been raising for years turned out to be the daughter of a villainous Duke driven half-mad by grief — a man who assumed the child was kidnapped and arrived at her door ready to offer a painless death in exchange. She survived only because the child screamed don't hurt Mom. Now, because of a three-year-old's stubborn loyalty, she finds herself co-parenting with the most dangerous man in the kingdom. He's threatening, seductive, and apparently capable of genuine devotion. She is starting to suspect she will not be escaping this particular situation.
