Synopsis
The frost bit hard that season, and two hedgehogs pressed against each other for heat. Their spines jabbed inward when they drew near, cutting and tearing. When they kept distance, the cold gnawed at them both. The Hedgehog's Dilemma teaches: Find the right spacing—far enough not to wound, close enough to share warmth. The male hedgehog told the female, "Listen! If my spines catch you, just pull one out. Every wound you take from me, take a quill in trade!" The female hedgehog stared at him: "That's reckless. If we keep going like this, won't you lose all your spines?"…
