Synopsis
Five hundred million years ago, the Cambrian Explosion produced an astonishing burst of new life in a geologically instant moment. No one has ever explained how. Now it's happening again. Evolution — compressed into days instead of millennia — is tearing through every species on earth. Humanity, the species that won the long slow race, is being knocked off the top of the food chain in real time. The real apocalypse isn't zombies. It's everything else catching up.
