Synopsis
On the day of her debut into society at fifteen, Marshallie Gracis—daughter of a Viscount—watches her betrothed drop to one knee before another woman, pleading for her affection.
The sight stings. But her fiancé offers neither explanation nor regret. She expects the engagement to dissolve, yet it doesn't. Years slip past without resolution, without marriage, without anything changing at all.
By twenty-five, Marsha has stopped waiting. She takes a position as lady-in-waiting to the Queen instead.
